Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that uses a specialised blade to physically exfoliate skin cells and remove vellus hair or “peach fuzz” for brighter, smoother skin. It is safe for all skin types and is popular with those wanting an alternative to chemical skin exfoliation.

Dermaplaning in Stirling

Dermaplaning is recommended for almost all skin types, but, of course, it is not for everyone. People who have thick, dark facial hair or those with overactive oily acne-prone skin should avoid dermaplaning. If you are susceptible to rashes, fever blisters and cold sores please inform your practitioner. If you have active acne there are other treatments available that would be more beneficial, and it is necessary to wait until breakouts are healed before trying this treatment.

Dermaplaning is a great standalone treatment but is also great to combine with other treatments including HydraFacial, superficial peels and Dermalux.

Timescales

The dermaplaning procedure lasts 45 minutes and produces immediate results which last around 4-6 weeks.

The Procedure

First, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed, then, using a medical grade, sterile blade, we will make small stokes across the surface of the skin at and angle to gently remove the vellus hair and the dead skin cells. This results in smoother, brighter skin.
